My Story...
I grew up in inner city New Orleans the oldest of five kids raised by a single Mom. I joined the Marines shortly after high school because I was floundering. I was selected for the Marines version of Special Forces and am a decorated combat veteran.
After service, my mother died of a heart attack leaving me with a younger brother to support. Needing to work full time, I borrowed $5000 to buy a truck and started my first company. I had lots of desire, but no experience.
My first goal was survival, then success. Along with success came the realization that having a good lifestyle didn't translate into having a great life - an important distinction.
I began transitioning my work first to consulting, then advising and ultimately coaching. It was there that I really began to look at the quality of my life which leads me to today - doing my best to play with life and be in relationship.
Here are a few things that I have accomplished along the way:
- Business Coach and advisor to entrepreneurs and coaches with over 25,000 billed hours
- Served as President of four corporations
- Chairman of a national organization
- Consulting projects with over 2 dozen Fortune 500 companies.
- Consulted with '96 Summer Olympic Games
- Advised national non-profits Make-a-Wish Foundation and The OASIS Institute
- Led a Non-profit outreach program that was awarded 2008 Program Champion by the U.S. Administration on Aging
- Designed and launched a technology training program for older adults (50+) that was funded by AT&T Foundation and rolled out to 22 cities.
- Created a heart-healthy cooking class attended by a 150 participants
- Master trainer certifications in Health & Wellness programs from Stanford University and Human Kinetics
- After a serious illness where medication caused me to gain a lot of weight, I have spent the last four years losing it all through diet and exercise.
- Close to even par golfer, avid dancer, excellent cook, love music, travel, the arts, New Orleans, and just hanging out with friends.
